About the Event
While every Easel event is special, this one has some extra oomph behind it. This month, we're hosting Xolani Sivunda, a South African painter and mosaic artist, who has traveled to the States for the very first time to work with ART 180 this summer, co-leading our Atlas Artist Residency.
Xolani creates vivid paintings inspired by the play of light and shadows characteristic of Italian Baroque legend Caravaggio. However, Xolani makes this inspiration his own by infusing it with color and incorporating found objects into his work.
Come out to the parklet on Thursday, June 20, to watch Xolani transform a blank canvas in just two hours. 1115 Mobile Kitchen will join us to take care of your lunch plans, while you sit back and become part of the energy exchange between artist and audience at the Easel!
