Open Studio: All Access

Join ART 180 and CultureWorks for the Open Studio: All Access, a bi-monthly workshop series designed to provide artists with all-access to creative space, skill-building, and grant writing guidance.

Held on the third Wednesday of each month, our Grant Writing Workshops, led by local expert Mary Burruss, will help you navigate the application process of grant writing. By the end of the program, participants will have crafted and submitted at least one grant proposal.

In Session Two, Basic Elements of a Grant & Artist Statements: You will learn the most common elements of grant applications and how to write a smart, readable artist statement. Why? Because most artists statements sound verbose, grandiose and make us comatose when reading them. They also usually sound strangely the same. In this class you will learn how to express your uniqueness while appealing to the masses.
