About the Event

In this generative workshop led by Richmond poet Rosa Castellano, teens will look to the seminal choreopoem, “For colored girls who’ve considered suicide when the rainbow is enuf” by Ntozake Shange for ideas and inspiration on bringing the whole body to the writing of poems. Through discussion and writing prompts we will write from the intersection of poetry and performance and we will finish the workshop with an impromptu performance of our poems.
