About the Event
Champions of Change pairs artwork by Richmond youth artists with Peace Post's collection of 198 global peace advocate portraits. Through their work, ART 180’s students honor the activists, business leaders, educators, and cultural figures from Jackson Ward's Black Wall Street era; the people who built a thriving Black community right here in Richmond.
Peace Post was created by Selman, a Brooklyn-based design studio founded by Executive Creative Director, Johnny Selman and Executive Producer, Chris Schroeder, who see design as a tool for change. Their eight-year global advocacy project celebrates advocates from around the world who've dedicated their lives to peace and justice. From our neighborhood to the globe, these portraits on view in our gallery show that advocacy starts local, but the impact can be global.
Join us during February First Fridays to learn more about Peace Post, and see work by our young artists.
