Throughout the month of December, ART 180 is turning its exhibition space, Atlas, into a holiday market. Art and crafts made by artists who have either lead programs or supported the work of ART 180, will be on display and for sale just in time for the holidays, along with products developed by ART 180.
Atlas Holiday Market opens during the First Fridays Art Walk on December 1 and will remain open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., December 4-14. Products range from paintings to pottery to wearable art, with prices from $5-$500.
The Atlas Holiday Market features multiple pieces of work from 26 local artists, including: Adriane Dalton, Aijung Kim, Bo Hundley, Caroline Moyer-Kardos, Hamilton Glass, Heilbron Rushing-Cooper, Ian Horwitz, Johannah Willsey and Kyle Lucia, Jenna Guthrie, Kate Duffy, Kristin Hott, Laura Mae Lucas, Lizette Gecel, Mary Holland, Matt Lively, Mehmet Sahin Altug, Merenda Woodward, Mica Whitney, Michael Willett, Ruchi Gupta, Steve Hedberg, Suzanne Vinson, Tim Rodgers, Todd Hale, Vanna Lam, and Keith Ramsey. Sale proceeds will be split between the artists and ART 180.
“This is a holiday market that is curated by the community for the community. We want to celebrate all of the wonderful artists who support our programs every year, while making art accessible to the community,” said Nicole Jones ART 180 Donor Relations Director.
Products by ART 180 include their 2018 desk calendar, the Artists Coloring Book (curated by Chuck Scalin and Matt Lively), and Black Hand Coffee in special artist bags. ART 180 will host an opening party for the Atlas Holiday Market on Friday, December 1, from 6-9 p.m. This reception is family friendly and open to the public. The party includes festive food and a DJ. Atlas is located at 114 W. Marshall St. in Jackson Ward, near the intersection of Brook Road.
